I'm so thankful to have travelled to Paris again this year, this time with my family. We visited some of my favorite areas, explored new parts of the city and spent some time with my good friend who lives here. This city is always surprising. Every time you go it's a completely different experience, it's never the same and always changing, along with your emotions and relationship to its streets and places and people. Paris has a special place in my heart ever since I studied here back in 2013. I've grown so much since then, and going back, each time is always special.
In the late fall the city is a little more dark, cloudy, grimy even, but still beautiful and always impressive to see up close. During the trip, since I felt compelled to pack light, I took photography primarily with my iPhone 5s. However I did take a handful of film photographs both Black and White and in Color (which you can see some of them above). I set about working on two projects during the week: the first is a more personal one, a travel journal, and the second is a photography series focused on the color Yellow throughout the city (which I'll be sharing once it's finished)!
Back home in the states I worked on my personal journal and also printed a small trade book with a few more photographs and collages.
