It's a new Y E A R and after celebrating and reflecting on the beautiful year I had back in 2017, I'm excited to start working on new projects, goals and research. To start off another year of making, I wanted to sit down and create a mood board/collage that featured photographs of inspiring women in their early 20s. I'm always a little fascinated with the lives of artists, writers, painters before their career really took off. I collected photos of Frida Kahlo, Miranda July, Carrie Brownstein, Annie Clark, Amy Poehler, and Ilana Glazer. All of these women have qualities I admire: courage, imagination, gifts of story telling and poetry, humor, innovation, and drive.
So, if you're looking for a way to get started on your creative journey this year, a mood board is a great way to remind yourself what is important to you, why you create and what you hope to share with others.
